What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are dozens of types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities).

People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons – to reduce stress and anxiety, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, and promote overall health and wellness. At Center for Health & Healing our Certified Massage Therapist, Nancy, will learn more about problems areas and will be able to recommend a massage therapy plan.

Types of massage therapy

OH-MY-ACHING-HEAD Massage:
A must have if you are one of millions who suffer from migraines or headaches due to stress or pollen. A light-touch method is used to restore proper function and flow of fluids.

Gua sha:

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese healing method in which a trained professional uses a smooth-edged tool to stroke your skin while they press on it. This motion raises small, red, rash-like dots that show under your skin called petechiae.

People use gua sha to treat chronic pain all over their bodies. They often do it alongside other complementary treatments like herbal medicine, massage, acupuncture, and heat therapy.
